End of Year Events in Vietnam and Singapore [Closed]

As 2023 comes to a close, we’ve been reflecting on the year and what we’ve enjoyed most. In-person gatherings rank high on our list of delights.

Iterative started in March 2020 at the beginning of COVID. Because of that, our default way of working has always been virtual. This year, for the first time ever, we hosted in-person orientation for our S23 Batch. We also had numerous in-person gatherings across Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and more.

Being virtual has its perks (the Iterative team is actually fully remote), but there’s a time and place for everything and the response we see from in-person events is undeniable. We hear the same 3 things from our team and people who’ve attended these events:

1. Being a Founder is Lonely – Being a founder is lonely, especially in Southeast Asia where the ecosystem is still developing and fragmented. Despite best efforts, meeting people over Zoom is no substitute for being in a room full of people just like you.
2. Higher Rate of Learning – This isn’t surprising but we’ve also discovered that people learn at a higher rate in-person. Not only is it more engaging to hear from a speaker, but you get the added benefit of learning from the other people at the event.
3. Better Understanding – Southeast Asia is a diverse region full of unique cultures. There’s no replacement to experiencing a place and a culture in person. You have to be somewhere to better understand it.

For those reasons, we’d like to do a little bit more before the end of the year, and hopefully meet you in the process!

Together with CoderSchool, we are excited to announce our first in-person event in Saigon. About In-Person Interviews

For the first time ever, Iterative is hosting in-person final interviews. We’re particularly excited about this chance to get to know founders better and learn more about what they’re working on.

To qualify for an in-person final interview, get your application in ASAP before the 4 December deadline. Slots are limited, so the earlier you apply, the better your chance to secure a slot.

How it Works

1) Apply – Submit your application by 4 December

2) First Call – If your application passes our first round of reviews, you may be invited to a first call with our investments team.

3) In-Person Final Interview – If your application passes, you’ll be invited for a final interview. For SG and VN based folks, you’ll have the option to select an in-person slot.

In-person interview slots are limited.

Apply early to improve your chances of securing an in-person interview.

Our investments team reviews applications daily, and we want to review as many applications as possible before the end of the year. That means we try to review applications within 3 days of receiving them (of course this may fluctuate with volume). Your chance of securing an in-person final interview is higher if you apply as early as possible.
